Hey CrossFit Palm Springs Tribe, it’s time to build on what we’ve learned during our No Sugar/No Alcohol Nutrition Challenge earlier this year and step everything up a notch. How are we going to do that? MEAL PREP!

Meal prep can mean something different to each person, so it is important to find a routine that works for you and your schedule. Some will choose to prepare only one type of meal (like lunches or dinners), while others may opt to prep all of their meals, including snacks. What we are saying is that this isn’t a one size fits all diet fad but a personal approach to healthier eating.

Here are a few benefits to meal prep:

  1. Grocery shopping will become easier! How? Because you will go into it with intention and with shopping list in hand. Download the CFPS Shopping List

  2. You will save money & time. How? By shopping off of your grocery list, based upon the meals you are planning for the week, you won’t be aimlessly wondering throughout the grocery store buying junk and other unnecessary items.

  3. You won’t waste food! How? Refer to items #1 and #2.

  4. It will help reduce daily stress. How? Refer to items #1, #2 and #3.

  5. It will help you reach your fitness goals while also teaching you the art of portion control.
